A basic white cake is turned into a colour-wheel, baked to perfection, then topped with a creamy white frosting...in a glass jar!
I've come to learn that creativity reaches it's peak when it comes to food, & i wasn't going to waste the opportunity to go a little crazy!
Great for dinner parties + get togethers, after-school treats for the kids or as a surprise for someone you love! Someone's birthday in the office - just pop a few candles on and you'll be the coolest friend out there ;)
Enjoy the photos!

| Mason jars - heavy duty and can handle high temps. (can use jam jars) |
| nothing wrong in using Betty Crocker's delicious cake mix for quick recipes! (instructions are on the box) |
| cake mix powder |
| beloved measuring cups |
| 1/3 cup vegetable oil (canola will do) |
| 2 eggs |
| all in together |
| mix it all up in your cake mixer until nice and smooth |
| (will get back to the recipe, but first) Today i had to go on the usual Tavola shopping spree! |
| today's guest loves shopping too.. |
| he really does.. |
| seriously :) |
| back to the recipe |
| separate cake mix into different small bowls to colour each one |
| Wilton's Icing colour - i recommend wearing gloves with all types of food colouring - it gets EVERYWHERE! |
| pink! |
| purple! |
| leaf green! |
| use non-stick spray and cover every inch of your jars |
| layer up the different coloured mixtures |
| Tadaaa! fill up to half way up so theres no overflow of cake mix will its rising in the oven |
| retro jar! no.2 chopsticks used to move the mix around for design |
| if you use an entire box of cake mix - you might have some left over, so i suggest using it to make cupcakes, or like above, small cakes (tooth-picks are good to get the marble effect with colour) |
| out of the oven! if there has been any overflow while baking, cut the excess off with a sharp knife |
| :) |
| spongey and airy :) |
| whisk some whipping cream for the frosting (you can buy it ready made by Betty Crocker too, in different flavours/colours) |
| should be light and fluffy in texture |
| jar no. 2 - will leave it rounded :) |
| decoration is key! |
| dig in! |
| With love! xx |
